What is Chronic Pain?

Chronic pain is pain that lasts for an extended period of time, typically three months or longer, and does not resolve the way normal pain usually does. It can be constant or intermittent and may affect one specific area or the entire body. Unlike acute pain, which serves as a warning sign of injury or illness, chronic pain often continues even after the original cause has healed or cannot be clearly identified. It can be described as a broken switch where your fight and flight mode it always on. When flight mode is always on, this runs the battery also known as you body ragged even from doing the simplest things. The ongoing pain interferes with daily life, making it difficult to sleep, focus in school, stay active, and maintain emotional well-being.
