Back Pain

Back pain affects the muscles, bones, or nerves in the back. It is one of the most common causes of chronic pain. Sitting, lifting, or even sleeping can make it worse. Link to more info

Headaches/
Migraines

Headaches cause pain in the head or neck area. Some headaches happen often or last a long time, turning into chronic pain. Migraines can also cause nausea and sensitivity to light. Link

Arthritis

Arthritis causes pain, swelling, and stiffness in the joints. It can make moving difficult and painful. Over time, joint pain can become long-lasting and lead to chronic pain. Link

Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia causes widespread pain throughout the body. People may also feel very tired and have trouble sleeping. The pain does not come from visible injury but can be severe. Link

Nerve Damage

Nerve damage happens when nerves are injured or stop working properly. It can cause burning, tingling, or sharp pain. This type of pain often lasts a long time. Link

IBS/IBD

IBS/IBD affects the digestive system and causes stomach pain and cramps. People may have diarrhea, constipation, or both. The pain can come and go but may be chronic. IBS Link IBD Link

Endometriosis

Endometriosis happens when tissue like the lining of the uterus grows outside of it. This can cause severe pelvic pain, especially during periods. The pain can be long-lasting. Link

GERD

GERD is severe Acid Reflux. Acid reflux causes stomach acid to move into the throat, causing burning pain. Ulcers are painful sores in the stomach or intestines. Both can cause ongoing pain if untreated. Link

Surgery

Some people have pain that lasts long after surgery. This happens when nerves or tissues do not heal properly. The pain can continue even after the surgery site looks healed. Link

Broken Bones

Broken bones usually heal, but some people have pain long after healing. This can happen if nerves are damaged or healing is uneven. Long-term pain is less common but possible. Link

Lyme Disease

Lyme disease is caused by a tick bite. It can lead to joint pain, muscle aches, and fatigue. Some people have long-lasting pain even after treatment. Link

Cancer

Cancer can cause pain from tumors or treatments like chemotherapy. The pain can be mild or severe depending on the type and stage. Not everyone with cancer experiences chronic pain. Link
